Cesis, Latvia
CECIS, Latvia

The inhabitants of in Latvian town of Cesis used to receive heat through an outdated and highly polluting, wood fired boilers. Back in 2008, and residents were literally sitting cold and in smoke. Some homeowners of the private houses found new solutions, but the 70 underprivileged households living in an apartment block could not.

SUN Energy Baltic broke the deadlock with innovative solutions.

SUN Baltic Energy developed a plan for the project in Cesis based on the Trias Energetica concept, consisting of:
  1. Reduction of energy demand (insulation of facades, floors, roof);
  2. Maximum integration of renewable energy sources;
  3. Use fossil energy for outstanding energy needs and consumption peaks.

ZON Energy Group came to the rescue with sustainable solutions and innovative investments. At unparalleled speed, a complete boiler installation was completed according to the most modern standards. Shortly after that the renewable energy system was introduced and sustainability of the entire investment was ensured.

Monitoring of the project, after completion, has shown overall savings of energy of 75%
