Collective building with collective heat problem

The poor heating infrastructure in city of Giurgiu means a lot of heat loss.

By some accounts, this figure occasionally reaches even 100%. To address this major problem ZON Energie teamed up with various local parties to investigate possibility of renewable energy solving this problem.

Preliminary study, financed through PESP facility, has been completed.

Conclusions

  1. A new biomass powered plant, in combination with 100,000 m2 of solar panels would be needed to meet city’s entire energy needs.
  2. The heat distribution system needs to be placed underground and isolated for reduction of heat loss through the network.
  3. Naturally, recommendation included isolation of buildings in order to minimize heat loss after delivery to households and final consumers.
